Farewell to Brotherhood

I should warn you: Most of the things I’ve put on the vlog are either funny or lighthearted and this is neither. It’s a tragedy and it’s sad.

This was a short film that Christian Vuissa asked me to make for the 2010 LDS Film Festival. I had to choose a screenplay from all of the 7-page script competition submissions and try to get it made in the 2 weeks before the festival for under $500. I asked Mckay to help me and we decided we wanted to do something serious and difficult since we never really had. It screened at the festival and I still wanted to make some changes and get some music for it. Without a deadline, though, I was constantly prioritizing other projects. So, a year later, here it is for you to see.

A couple questions I have for you… one is how you cast this film. I’ve been trying to figure out how to get people to act in films. Second, where did you film this and how were you able to get permission to film there?

I really liked the video and think you always do amazing film work.
