MikeAlger’s Demo Reel

I may have several videos on my vlog, but really it’s just a side hobby. My most professional and highest quality work is done for employers and freelance gigs that rarely are put on this site. The demo reel here showcases several clips from various projects completed for a range of clients; however, they are primarily just a few of the projects I’ve edited. A chunk of my experience comes from working as a member of crews for various productions. In my quest to become something of an auteur of film and video, I have gained several skillsets from every point of production. I can write, storyboard, produce, budget, schedule, rent, and manage with precision. I can transport, set-up, light, block, shoot, and wrap with quality. I can capture, edit, mix, color correct, sweeten, tweak, and upload with efficiency. I can do motion graphics. I can do Photoshop. I can do 3D. And I MAY** even be able to ‘fix it in post.’ (**keep it on the DL, though, eh?) I can work as a one-man production showing up at a location to get a story OR I can work either in charge of or as part of a team working toward the goal of a high quality product. I have experience as an on-location or studio cameraman for pre-recorded and live broadcast television. I’ve worked in several positions from PA to Grip to DP to Producer on film crews. I’ve edited from many mediums using various software and compressing to several end products including DVD, web, or mobile devices. I think the point I’m trying to make here is that I can do that thing that you’re thinking “Hey, I wonder if he can do that.”

Freelance Rates

It’s the inevitable, unanswerable question. It depends on what you want and how available I am. Most simple single video projects cost a few hundred but that’s as specific as I could even generalize on here because there are so many variables between time, equipment, and work. Larger productions involving full crews may cost several thousand.

MikeAlger and cameraman equipment

Probably the best bet to get a real estimate would be to contact me in some way. You can use the form at the bottom of this page, or download my contact info vCard for Outlook or Address book, or call my phone at 215-MIK-ALGR. I tend to have several projects in the works so I can’t promise my availability. If you use the form on this page, be as specific as possible about what you need. Does it include writing, storyboarding, far distances, specific equipment, actors, lighting, audio, shooting, editing, graphics, animation, 3D, multiple crew members, capturing tapes, web compression, DVDs, etc.?

And yeah, one of those annoying "write the letters you see" things.
You DO have to type them as capitals:
